Mark Cox is a Chicago-based art director and award-winning graphic designer.
He is a graduate of Oxford Polytechnic and Salisbury College of Art in the United Kingdom.
His projects have included packaging for a line of toys for film director TIM BURTON, stationery and journal sets for artists SHAG and GARY BASEMAN, book designs for authors CLIVE BARKER, ANDREW VACHSS and FRANK MILLER, and Star Wars graphic novel designs for LUCASFILM. His freelance commissions include KEROSENE CREATIVE (Brooklyn, NY) and NEW LINE PICTURES, GSP MARKETING (Chicago, IL), DOLORES KOHL EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION (Highland park, IL), 24 HOUR FITNESS (San Francisco, CA), AUAD PUBLISHING (San Francisco, CA), VOGUE BOOKS/CONDE NASTE PUBLICATIONS (London, UK), DEADLINE MAGAZINE (London, UK), FLEETWAY PUBLICATIONS (London, UK), and RCA RECORDS (London, UK).
Previous full-time employers include DARK HORSE BOOKS, MARVEL COMICS UK, TITAN BOOKS, and TUNDRA PUBLISHING. In 2000 his designs for the graphic novel 300 by Frank Miller and Lynn Varley were awarded THE WILL EISNER COMIC INDUSTRY AWARD FOR BEST PUBLICATION DESIGN.
